I walked into this festival for 2 things, the churros and the liquid nitrogen ice cream!😁
Much to my surprise there were two stalls selling churros, one by Pane & amore for 100 a tray while the other was Churros and Choc selling their tray for 250.😳
I tried both and I’ll vote for Pane & amore here because of the taste, rate and a better chocolate sauce! Although sadly non were close to perfect.😞
I know how to make churros and I make them all the time at home and I have had churros in London so I pretty much know my churros, Karachi still does not have it! 😕
Now I’ll show you what the churros from Pane & amore looked like.😊
Next up is the churros from the Churros and Choc.😊
Do you wants to know what was the best thing I had here? 😱
A strawberry samosa by The SpoonFull!😱😱😱
I wanted more and more of this !!! 😝
The samosa had strawberry chunks in it fried in front of you topped with more chunks of strawberry, Nutella sauce and fresh cream! 😍
This was indeed innovative and a brilliant idea!
All this for a 100 bucks! 😘
High value for low money…
It was all worth it… I highly recommend you try this out! 😁
The stall is right next to Pane & amore.
The ravioli by the Deli tasted good but that’s all I will say about it or may be a little more… 😒
What happened to the filling? I fail to understand.😣
The chosen bun! You took soooo damn long to make one burger it’s crazy… It wasn’t even crowded around your stall and at the end got my order wrong. There’s nothing wrong with the burger I must add here that it was in fact delicious from the light bun to the juicy beef patty everything was good about it. ☺️
As always you rock man!
Crab Rangoon more like crab wontons with creamy aromatic crab meat filling, this is an item you must try! 200 bucks for 3 of them.
They were just too good!
And so were the porcupine prawns!!!
Slice prawns and fungus with rice!!!
Cooked to perfection! Made me very happy.😁
Next up the liquid nitrogen ice cream called Ice Dream! Highly disappointed with the flavour… It was more of a show and may be only!
Since I’ve tried this in London before and seen how it’s made, I could so tell those guys were not drained for the task nor did they understand the danger it can cause and if you notice from the pictures below, no one from the staff wore the glasses to protect their eyes from the liquid nitrogen while working with it.
The liquid nitrogen was not measured resulting into variation in the quantity and texture of the ice cream.
Do go for the sake of experience feel proud that Pakistan also now have it… I am sure with time they will perfect themselves.
We tried the stuffed paratha inspired by the Arabs… It’s got eggs, vegetables and chicken in it. For 180 not bad Huh? It was cheap and was very filling… Good at the same time.
Fish taco’s !!! 😍
I have always wanted to try fish tacos but for some reason never did until last night and I must tell you I actually liked it !
However we can find better Tortillas around K-Town. 😌
We bought pasta from Fika and I don’t even feel like writing about it …. It would just simply waste my time . 😠
Oh!! The fudge 😍by the Karachi fudge company! They had The Karachi cheese cake. Now how cool has that !!! 😘
To me the Peanut butter fudge was the best of them all!!!
What I feel about this festival is that Karachi strongly needs it… I just hope the planning and the management were a bit better though…the ground had several sudden dips that Made many stumble and fall.
Who ever did the lights clearly did not do a good job it kept on striking into my eyes.
No Japanese or Thai food to be found.
No traditional desi delicacies like trotters in gravy “paye” or Nihari.
I feel this was a theme lacking event.
I still will encourage every one to go visit and be part of it! We rarely have things like this happening!
Make the most of it… Take your friends, family and loved ones to this festival and enjoy yourself as much as you can! 😘
